Tropic Thunder continued its reign atop of the American box-office as it coined a further $11.5 million, to beat the critically slaughtered Babylon AD into second spot with $9.7 million. Other new openers Traitor and Disaster Movie banked $7.9 million and $6.1 million. Traitor opened on a limited number of screens, so offered a solid return for its budget. Disaster Movie's opening is a disappointment for the studio, given that the likes of Epic Movie and Date Movie opened in and around the $20 million mark. Are American cinema goers finally coming to their senses?
