Charlize Theron is negotiating to star with Tom Cruise in a remake of the French thriller The Tourist, according to Variety. The stunning blonde actress will play an Interpol agent who uses an American tourist (Cruise) in an attempt to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair. The wily swine, using Tom Cruise for her own gain; how could she? Cruise has been attached to this film for some time, while Bharat Nalluri will direct. Oscar winning Usual Suspects scribe Christopher McQuarrie is currently polishing the script, having last penned the film Valkyrie, starring Cruise and directed by Bryan Singer. Shooting is scheduled to begin in March.
