Exciting news for all you Hunger Games fans out there production on the next installment of The Hunger Games trilogy has officially started! Yayy!
Lionsgate has announced that shooting for the sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire began yesterday in Atlanta before moving to be shot on location at beaches and jungles in Hawaii later in the year.
The film which is based on the best selling novels of the same name has been a massive success since it's release earlier this year and this sequel is highly anticipated. The Hunger Games Catching Fire will see Jennifer Lawrence reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen as her and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) return from the hunger games to do their victory tour ahead of the 75th annual Hunger Games but all is not ok with a rebellion brewing and the Quarter Quell looming Panem is about to be changed forever.
Lionsgate President of Production Eric Peig who is overseeing the production said 'We are so excited to be embarking on this adventure with Francis Lawrence, who has already exhibited immense creative vision and resourcefulness in casting the film and planning its look and feel. The stakes are raised in every way in this second story, and we are thrilled to get the production underway in these perfect locations, with our excellent returning cast and some world class actors in new roles' The cast will consist of Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson,Elizabeth Banks and new additions Sam Claflin, Jena Malone and Jeffrey wright.
Production is set to wrap up in December with the film being released worldwide on the 22nd November 2013.
