David Harbour's take on the demon isn't what you'd expect.
The Hellboy official trailer dropped last night and it's not quite what you'd expect.
Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Guillermo del Toror previously adapted 'Hellboy' for the big screen in 2004. Ron Perlman played the titular character. A sequel hit cinemas in 2008 but its second sequel was cancelled. Now we have this reboot instead.
David Harbour, best-known for playing Jim Hopper in 'Stranger Things', takes on the demon superhero. Caught between the supernatural and human world, Hellboy must face off an ancient sorceress. Called the Blood Queen or Nimue (played by Milla Jovovich of 'Resident Evil' fame), she is bent on revenge.
Ian McShane, Sasha Lane ('American Honey') and Daniel Dae Kim ('Lost') co-star. Irish actor Brian Gleeson also makes an appearance as Merlin, the wizard.
Neil Marshall directs. Having previously helmed the horror movies 'Dog Soldiers' and 'The Descent', you wouldn't expect the amount of comic relief there is in the trailer.
