Jameela Jamil, one of the stars of hit comedy series 'The Good Place', has publicly slammed Quentin Tarantino for casting Emile Hirsch in his upcoming film, 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood', after the actor was convicted of misdemeanour assault in 2015.
The woman who made that complaint was Daniele Bernfeld, a studio executive who is a friend of Jamil's and according to her suffers from PTSD from the assault. In Jamil's tweet, she says that Hirsch left Bernfeld with "with three years of PTSD and never paid for her treatment, and still hasn’t apologized to her."
Cool. Emile Hirsch strangled my tiny female best friend until she blacked out at a party in front of dozens of witnesses at Sundance Film Festival (and was convicted) but Tarantino just cast him in a movie. INTENSE case of rich white male privelege eh? Cool. Cool. Cool. 🖕 pic.twitter.com/FkZNmK5fda

The actor was sentenced to 15 days in jail and was fined $4,750 as well as receiving 90 days probation and 50 hours of community service, and has not publicly spoken about the conviction or assault since then.
Jameela Jamil's comments have clearly resonated with people, as the original tweet has now been retweeted over 4,000 times since it was posted. Hirsch and director Quentin Tarantino have not responded so far.
'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' is expected in Irish cinemas in Summer 2019.
