Looks like Hollywood is finding its feet again
Several major Hollywood productions are resuming shooting very soon. They include 'The Batman' and 'Mission: Impossible 7' among other features.
'The Batman' and latest 'Mission: Impossible' movie were just some of the movie and TV projects forced to halt production in recent months due to the current health crisis.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said this weekend that the blockbusters can resume filming in the UK following exemption of quarantine rules set out by the government.
According to The Wrap, Dowden personally spoke with Tom Cruise about the exemption.
The action movie's crew members will be allowed to return to England to finish filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire as long as they stick to quarantine rules.
Productions that are restarting will only be filming in England. Crew members are to be restricted to a “bubble” environment. This means they will live in close proximity to the production area. They will also not be able to leave to explore the surrounding community.
Dowden says that the exemptions are being granted in an effort to revive the British film industry, safely.
He said: "We want the industry to bounce back and exempting small numbers of essential cast and crew from quarantine is part of our continued commitment to getting cameras rolling safely again."
'Mission: Impossible 7' was originally set for a July 2021 release. It has now been pushed back to November 2021 due to filming delays.
Aside from 'The Batman' and 'Mission: Impossible', other major productions set to resume filming in England include 'Jurassic World: Dominion'; 'Fantastic Beasts 3'; Sony’s live-action musical adaptation of 'Cinderella'; and Disney’s live-action remake of 'The Little Mermaid.'
Elsewhere around the world, the 'Avatar' sequels have resumed production in New Zealand. 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' should also get the go-ahead soon for shooting in Czech Republic.
