Turn that frown upside down
The trailer for upcoming horror film 'Smile' has been released, and it's nothing short of terrifying.
Based on the short film 'Laura Hasn't Slept', 'Smile' stars Sosie Bacon as Dr. Rose Cotter, a psychiatrist who has been involved in a traumatic incident with a patient as we can see from the trailer.
The doctor begins to be followed by some sort of supernatural entity that stems from the incident. In what seems like a similar plotline to 'The Ring' and 'It Follows', the entity travels from victim to victim and dies within a week.
The plot summary details that Rose "starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, she must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality."
In the trailer, we see Rose slowly start to delve deeper and deeper into paranoia as the tension ramps up. At the very end, we get a lovely little jump-scare which will no doubt be a sign of what's to be expected in the film.
This is the Bacon's first starring feature role. The daughter of Kevin Bacon has previously featured in 'Mare of Easttown' and '13 Reasons Why'.
Joining Bacon are Caitlin Stasey, Kyle Gallner. Other cast members for the film include Rob Morgan, Jessie T. Usher, Judy Reyes and Kal Penn. 'Smile' is directed by Parker Finn.

'Smile' releases in cinemas on September 30.
