"No complaints"
'Cats' looked weird from the ad and trust us when we say, the feature-length version was weirder.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber caused a furore when it hit cinemas last December. Between its surreal and very dull storyline and creepy AF CGI human-cat hybrids, 'Cats' wound up topping worst movies of the year lists far and wide.
And it's weird too because the movie had a high-calibre cast including Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and Jennifer Hudson. It also starred singers like Jason Derulo and Taylor Swift.
Alas it was a car crash of a movie and bombed at the box office. You could call it a cat-astrophe of the highest order.
Yet its stars have rushed to defend it. Swift is the latest to join them.
The musician both co-starred in the movie and co-wrote the original song 'Beautiful Ghosts' for it. Regarding the single getting a nomination for the Golden Globes, she told Variety: “I’m happy to be here, happy to be nominated, and I had a really great time working on that weird-ass movie.”
She continued: “I’m not gonna retroactively decide that it wasn’t the best experience. I never would have met Andrew Lloyd Webber or gotten to see how he works, and now he’s my buddy. I got to work with the sickest dancers and performers. No complaints.”
Well fair play to her. We're sure it was much more fun performing in 'Cats' than it was to actually watch it.
