Acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, nominated for the Oscar for Best Director for his World War II epic Inglourious Basterds, is confident that he won't be walking away with the best director statuette come Oscar night, saying that he'll lose out to The Hurt Locker's Kathryn Bigelow. He is, however, more confident of winning the awards for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

"It would be really nice to win an Oscar for one of the things I'm up for. And I think I stand a very good chance. I think we stand a good chance for Best Picture and I think I stand a very, very good chance for best screenplay. I can't imagine Kathryn is not going to get it for best director. I'm going to vote for Kathryn," Tarantino said to contactmusic.com

Tarantino was last nominated for the directing gong in 1994 for Pulp Fiction, but shockingly lost out to Robert Zemeckis' saccharine Forrest Gump.
