Rocky Balboa won't be making an appearance

Sylvester Stallone will not be back to reprise his veteran boxer role of Rocky Balboa opposite Michael B. Jordan (who is also directing the threequel) in the next 'Creed' movie.

THR reached out to the actor's rep regarding his participation and they confirmed that Sylvester Stallone won't be involved in the sequel.

Apparently, no additional explanation was offered.

Mind you, Sylvester Stallone had previously indicated that 'Creed 2' would be his last outing as Rocky.

Taking to Instagram, he posted a video from the set of the movie announcing his retirement of the character.

He wrote: "I just want to thank everyone around the whole wide World for taking the Rocky family into their hearts for over 40 years.

"It’s been my Ultimate privilege to have been able to create and play this meaningful character. Though it breaks my heart, Sadly all things must pass… and end.

"I love you Kind and generous people , and The most wonderful thing of all , is that ROCKY will never die because he lives on in you …."

Stallone portrayed the role of Rocky Balboa across eight movies altogether, including the two 'Creed' movies.

Rocky fans can get excited for one thing though.

Sylvester Stallone recently announced his recut of 'Rocky IV' is nearly complete.

Again taking to Instagram, he said he's "feeling great about this."

Sly fans can also look forward to seeing the actor in 'The Suicide Squad' later this year.
