Almost time for another fantastic film festival, this time in Kilkenny. This one's for foreign cinema lovers, the hint is in the name: SUBTITLE European Film Festival.

Below is all you need to know.

It kicks off on November 25th and goes right up until December 1st. There'll be 70 screenings of 36 films from 13 different countries for you to choose from.

In terms of guests at the festival you can look forward to the following interesting names:

SUBTITLE has already gained a reputation as an actors’ festival, and 2013 will see a stellar line up of European talent, many of whom would be recognisable faces.

The Festival will open and close with Irish premieres of two new Russian films - electric crime drama The Major and epic disaster movie Metro, both part of the RESURGENT RUSSIA season at the Festival, a unique and exciting look at modern Russian cinema. The CRIMEWATCH season will present some of the best examples of the genre, including Finnish star director Aku Louhimies’ (who will attend the festival) gripping 8-Ball and Oscar nominated Revanche. Audiences will also get a chance to see the highlights of the 2012 Festival with the RE:VIEW season bringing back some of the most popular films for a second look. Featuring Polish historical drama In Darkness, Norwegian comedy thriller Jackpot and crime thriller Headhunters, Danish rom-com Truth About Men and the Swedish drama Pure.

SUBTITLE will present popular films from European countries such as Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, France, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Bosnia, in the Set at Langton’s, Cleere’s, the Watergate Theatre and the Cinemobile, which will roll into town for the weekend.
