The remake of Straw Dogs, to be written and directed by Rod Lurie, has just added its three main cast. Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard will star alongside the underrated James Marsden in the already highly derided remake, which has been garnering boo's from every critical corner since it was announced. Marsden will play a Hollywood screenwriter, who movies to his wife's (Bosworth) hometown in Mississippi to finish a script in private. Skarsgard (who stars in the excellent HBO series True Blood) will play her high school boyfriend, an ex-football hero. Lurie has yet to hit a film out of the park as a writer or director, but has shown signs of potential in some of his stuff. I like Marsden, but I still have no idea how this will work.
