We're getting a mini reunion of 'The Office', people
What is it with Hollywood delivering knock-out casting line-ups these days? Get ready for another incredible ensemble cast for the feature film set for release in 2023.
The previously stacked cast has added a few more faces to ensure that, yes, we're really excited about this one. John Krasinski's 'If' will be a fantasy/comedy which will see him team up with his former comedy sitcom co-star.
Steve Carell has been added to the long list of names signed up for the project, which Krasinski will also write, direct, produce and star in. This will be the first time that 'The US Office' actors will be seen on screen together since the season nine finale, where Michael Scott makes a cameo appearance during Dwight and Angela's wedding.
Last year was when we first got wind of this family fantasy film, which will also star Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Fiona Shaw. Plot details are scarce at the moment, but it is believed that the fantasy adventure will be about a child rediscovering their imagination. Will many of the names attached to 'If' be appearing as fantastical creations? We'll have to wait and see. We're envisioning Fiona Shaw as a pretty amazing wicked witch-type character, leaning into her Aunt Petunia days from 'Harry Potter'.
Also joining the cast will be Alan Kim, who has been cast as the young boy we will be going on an adventure with. Kim is best known for his role as David in 'Minari'. Cailey Fleming, who starred as Judith Grimes in 'The Waling Dead' has been added, as well as Louis Gossett Jr., who most recently appeared in HBO's 'Watchmen' as Will Reeves.
John Krasinski and his 'If' family film is due to begin shooting soon. The next time we'll see Steve Carell on screen will be when the second season of Netflix's 'Space Force' arrives on February 2.
'If' has a release date of November 17, 2023.
