'Episode IX' gets its title, and some very familiar faces (and voices) are making a comeback.
At long last, we now know the title of 'Star Wars: Episode IX' and it's confirmed as 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' in the first teaser.
While plot details seem to be light, it opens with Rey on a desert planet playing chicken with what appears to be Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer, before it cracks into the Millennium Falcon being piloted by none other than Lando Calrissian.
From there, we see lots of action, General Leia and Rey hugging one another, the medal from 'A New Hope', lots more action and what appears to be the wreckage of the Death Star II on Endor, followed by some very familiar laughing.
If you know your evil laughs, you'll recognise it as the Emperor. Just to underline the point, Ian McDiarmid - who's played the Emperor since 1983's 'Return of the Jedi' - came out on stage right after the trailer was introduced.
'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' hits Irish cinemas on December 19th, 2019 and we'll have a full breakdown of the teaser first thing tomorrow.
