We still have yet to hear what the film's title will be

'Star Wars: Episode IX' director JJ Abrams has tweeted the end of principal photography on the intergalactic movie.

Lightsabers at the ready people, because the final instalment of the core 'Star Wars' franchise has just finished filming. 42 years after the release of 'Star Wars: A New Hope' who'd have thought that 2019 would be that year? The highly anticipated final chapter is just around the corner, and we can't wait.

JJ Abrams, who stepped back into the directors chair for the final outing, has teased that the culmination of eight previous chapters is going to get emotional. He tweeted a picture of John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac embracing, saying "It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all."

British actor Boyega, who plays Finn, also tweeted the same image. He told fans "That’s a wrap on Star Wars episode 9 and the end to a chapter of my life that I couldn’t be more thankful for. What a process! It really has been a joy to be in these movies surrounded by amazing people. JJ thank you for making my dreams come true."

Star Warriors were no doubt thrilled with the news that shooting has wrapped on set.

However, one question is still unanswered - what's the name of the new movie?

This side-by-side comparison is laden with all of the feels.

It goes without saying, we appreciate all of the hard work.
