Sylvester Stallone has signed on to star in the action film Headshot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Stallone will not direct the hitman flick, but instead Wayne Kramer, who directed (well received indie) The Cooler, and little know Paul Walker starrer Running Scared, will call the shots. Stallone will play a New Orleans assassin who teams up with a cop from New York to investigate a couple of murders. Unless there's a Dexter-like vibe going on here then I really don't get it... anyhow the film will take both characters all the way to Washington DC.
I was a little underwhelmed by The Expendables, not in terms of the action, but more in that I like to be able to understand a word the characters say. Dolph Lundgren was mumbling at a level only zombies could understand. Still, Stallone is making this outside of the studio system, so it may have its moments.
