Sam Mendes 'Skyfall' had a hugely successful opening weekend breaking a couple of box office records.

The film opened this weekend and took in £20.2 million ($32.4m) in the UK making it the second highest opening weekend after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, while also breaking the highest attendance record for a Saturday in the UK. The 007 flick took in £48.4 million ($77.7 million) overall since it's release on Friday, two weeks before it's release in the US.

With figures like that it's no surprise Skyfall writer John Logan has been signed up for the next two films. The next installment will be spread over two separate films and will also star Daniel Craig who is signed up for at least two more Bond movies. Logan who wrote the screenplays for Hugo, The Aviator and Sweeney Todd is said to have started work on writing the screenplays already.

Skyfall has it's debut in the U.S on the 9th November. You can read our review for it here.
