The actor and director has corrected what he said previously
Rumours about the 'Harry Potter' star storming off the set of 'This Is The End' were referenced by Rogen in a recent GQ interview. Rogen then clarified further on his Twitter page.
In case you missed it, in an interview with British GQ this week Seth Rogen was asked about the rumour regarding Emma Watson "storming off the set" of his feature film 'This Is The End'. A very meta and out-there movie at the time of its release, the comedy was directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
The part of the comedy which Watson appears to have disagreed with was when Danny McBride shows up towards the end as a cannibal, with Channing Tatum appearing on a leash in a gimp mask. Watson was originally due to appear alongside them.
However, Rogen didn't outright deny the journalist's question about Watson in his recent interview. Instead, he looked back on the aftermath of what happened, saying: "I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, 'How dare she do that?' You know? I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was. But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film."
Seth Rogen has further gone on to correct what he said about Emma Watson, saying "it misrepresents what actually happened" on set. He wrote a tweet which he hopes will clarify the "uncool or unprofessional" narrative currently circulating about the 'Harry Potter' actor.
He writes: "Emma Watson did not 'storm off the set' and it’s shitty that the perception is that she did. The scene was not what was originally scripted, it was getting improvised, changed drastically and was not what she agreed to.
"The narrative that she was in some way uncool or unprofessional is complete bullshit.
"I for sure should have communicated better and because I didn't, she was put in an uncomfortable position. She and I spoke on the night: it was overall a shitty situation and it must have been hard for her to say something and I'm very happy and impressed that she did.
"We agreed on her not being in the scene together. I was thrilled for the opportunity to work with her and would be thrilled to get that opportunity again.
"I am very sorry and disappointed it happened, and I wish I had done more to prevent it."
