The Oscars just wouldn't be the Oscars without a half daycent musical number. Nobody's managed to do it with quite the same panache as Hugh Jackman (well that'd be a tough act to follow for anyone), but this year's host is going to give it one hell of a bash. Joining Seth MacFarlane to send us off in style will be that annoying Southern wan from Glee, Kristin Chenoweth. Chenoweth will be quite a busy bee on Oscar Sunday, what with her hosting the pre Oscars ABC show along with Robin Roberts too.
Adding to the mounting excitement, Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said: "After the 'Best Picture' award has been given, Seth and Kristin will perform a special number and we think it will be a 'can't miss' moment."
But will they have a patch on the performances by Adele, Dame Shirley Bassey, Norah Jones and Barbara Streisand? Probably not, but no doubt it'll have MacFarlane's entertaining hallmark written all over it. Looks like we're set for quite the musical themed awards ceremony, what with reunions from both the Les Mis and Chicago casts on the night too.
