Could 'Star Wars' be the actor's next franchise?

"Well, if Mark Hamill calls me personally to tell me that he feels inclined to share this role with me, then I’ll believe it."

Sebastian Stan has addressed those young Luke Skywalker rumours that have been doing the rounds for a while. If a young version of the character ever sees the light of day, many Star Wars fans have been campaigning for the Marvel actor to take over the iconic role of the Jedi.

Marvel fans have been speculating that 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' will see the end of Bucky Barnes in the MCU, the role which Sebastian has played since 2014. So, should the series culminate with this character's end, could the actor be jumping ship to another Disney-owned franchise?

When asked this question recently, Sebastian said that he would need personal approval from the one and only Mark Hamill. The 38-year-old said: "Well, if Mark Hamill calls me personally to tell me that he feels inclined to share this role with me, then I’ll believe it.

"Until then, I won’t believe it." (Insert cheeky grin here).

Back in 2016, an Instagram user posted a side-by-side shot of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker with Sebastian Stan, which caught many a Star Wars fan's attention. Their faces looked very similar when placed beside each-other, but the pictures were photoshopped slightly to make the comparison seem more uncanny.

With various Star Wars productions in the works at the moment, none, as of yet, will feature (or at least bear the name of) Luke Skywalker. As well as all of the various Disney+ TV spin-offs, there are some film productions on the way. Both Taika Waititi and Kevin Feige have untitled movies in the pipeline, and director Rian Johnson has a trilogy in the works.

Here's the Sebastian Stan interview, which took place on 'Good Morning America'.

Do you think Sebastian Stan would make a good young Luke Skywalker? Or will Lucasfilm really be ballsy enough to recast the character? Let us know what you think.
