The immensely talented Saoirse Ronan is to star as a teenage assassin for her Atonement director, Joe Wright, in Hanna.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ronan will play a young woman who was trained in all sorts of cool ways to kill people by her CIA operative father. Apparently raised in the forests of Sweden, she also has a shitload of survival skills - like a teenaged, female version of Bear Grylls. When her father goes missing, she goes looking to find him, and quite probably bust some heads along the way.
Ronan is coming off of a critically lauded turn in The Lovely Bones, and will be around for a very long time. A wonderful actress, with an Oscar nomination already in the bag, this really sounds like a fun role for her. Wright is coming off of a flop in The Soloist, but did a great job with Atonement.
