We're hearing rumours that Saoirse Ronan has read for a role in JJ Abrams' Star Wars Episode 7. Some sources believe she's in talks to play a villain. If this happens, and they do decide to film a few scenes in Ireland, we can claim it as a production of our own, right? Invite the Jedis and Ewoks and Sithlords, maybe the Wookies too for a pint of the black shtuff?
What's more, Latino Review believe that David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher) and Michael B. Jordan (The Wire) have been attending the casting chats with JJ and his people. And while Benedict Cumberbatch was keeping mum about the rumours surrounding his casting, Latino Review (who hear about this stuff before almost everyone else) seem pretty damn certain he'll still pop up. Still though, don't shoot the messenger, take all of this with a pinch of salt. Nevertheless, it's always fun to speculate.
Along with that, we've also gotten wind of the first confirmed filming location: Las Cruces, Mexico. Not exactly Ireland but hey, we'll keep our ear to the ground.
Stay tuned for more rumblings!
