A fourth installment of the Rush Hour franchise is on the way.
Last October, Jackie Chan was the first of the franchise’s mismatched comedic cop duo to indicate that the movie could be a-go. However, it was all dependent on his (literal) partner in crime, Chris Tucker.
Speaking on Power 106's The Cruz Show, Chan said: "For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed… the script, probably end of this month. They’re on the second draft. Next year, probably start. I hope. If Chris Tucker agrees."
Now Tucker has confirmed that the sequel has indeed entered production.
Appearing on ESPN’s podcast The Plug, the stand-up comedian turned actor was asked about the film.
He replied, “We’re working on it now. It’s definitely happening. This is going to be the rush of all rushes.”
Tucker continued, “Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people won’t ever forget it. I can’t tell you [what it’s going to be about] but it’s all good stuff.”
So, like it or not, they’re back.
