It's been in the works for some time, but it looks like the Rocky spin-off movie, Creed, is finally happening.
Written and directed by Ryan Coogler - who last year's fantastic Fruitvale Station - the story will see the grandson of Apollo Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan, enter the world of boxing.
And who's his mentor? Rocky Balboa.
Coogler has said that this was his dream project and pitched the idea directly to Stallone. What's more, casting has already begun on the film.
Real-life boxers Tony Bellew and Andre Ward are in talks to join the cast of Creed, with Bellew playing young Creed's primary opponent.
Filming is due to start in January in Las Vegas and Philadelphia.
Casting a real-life boxer definitely adds weight and authenticity to the proceedings, but when has a professional sports star ever successfully transitioned into acting? The Rock, maybe. Anyone else?
Exactly.
That said, we're quite hopeful about this one. The original Rocky was gritty and heartfelt - just like Fruitvale Station - and we think Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler are two genuine talents to watch out for.
Creed is expected in cinemas in 2016.
