Although it didn't exactly set the box office on fire, Blade Runner 2049 won huge acclaim from critics and audiences alike (at the least ones who saw it).

Since then, Ridley Scott's been open about some of the film's failings, but in an interview with Digital Spy, he talked about how he hopes there'll be a sequel - and that he's got an idea for a sequel.

"I think there is another story. I've got another one ready to evolve and be developed, so there is certainly one to be done for sure," said Scott. Anyone who watched the film will know that the ending is definitely left open for a sequel - so there's clearly scope there.

The question, as with Blade Runner 2049, is whether or not it needs a sequel. One of the problems we had with the film was that - despite it being a technical marvel with strong performances by everyone involved - the fact remained that Blade Runner didn't need a sequel to begin with.

So, another sequel? Sure, OK. Whatever.
