Coming as welcome news to all Ridley Scott fans, the prolific director has decided to resume his work on The Counselor this week, just weeks after the untimely passing of his brother Tony. As expected, the 74 year old director of Prometheus and Gladiator had temporarily halted production on his forthcoming thriller - in which Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender will star - as a mark of respect to his brother, to give himself time to mourn and to sort out his younger brother's affairs. During this break, Ridley and his family also took time to set up an honorary scholarship programme at the American Film Institute in Tony Scott's name.
Filming resumes today in London (Londoners, keep an eye out for Pitt and Fassbender sightings!) before moving over to Alicante in the coming weeks. The Counselor tells the story of a lawyer who finds himself in over his head when he gets embroiled in drug trafficking. The film will be released in 2013; certainly one to watch out for.
