Of all the sequels you could see making their way to the big screen, Point Break probably wasn’t one of them. The original starred Keanu Reeves as an undercover cop, infiltrating a gang of surfers moonlighting as bank-robbers, who were led by Patrick Swayze’s charismatic Bodhi. The sequel will be titled Point Break: Indo, and is to be directed by former successful action director Jan De Bont, who is responsible for Speed (wooohoo) and Speed 2 (doh!). No news yet on if Reeves or Swayze will be returning, but it’s unlikely that the latter will be well enough to shoot an action film, if recent reports of his well being are to be believed. Word is this time around a new character called Billy Dalton is tracking a gang of unruly criminals called The Bush Administration - which is very original. You can almost hear the writer patting himself on the back for thinking of that one... Somewhere Paul Walker’s spidey sense is tingling.
