Director Gore Verbinski will not return to helm a fourth installment in the ridiculously popular Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The in-demand Verbinski will instead concentrate on his big budget video game adaptation Bio-Shock, and the animated feature Rango - which will feature a Johnny Depp voiced character. The director said: "I had a fantastic time bringing 'Pirates' to life, and I am eternally grateful to Jerry, Johnny and the rest of the creative and production team. I'm looking forward to all of us crossing paths again in the future." The film is expected to begin shooting in 2010, so Bruckheimer and co. will be shifting through CV's as we speak to find another director. Sit down, Brett Ratner.
