Dwayne Johnson is getting the promo for his 're-imagining' of the '90s classic 'Jumanji' in early, taking to Instagram to share an update on the production as well as inform everyone about how he plans to honour Robin Williams in the reboot.
In a long post, Johnson shared a photo of himself with the original source material for 'Jumanji' by Chris Van Allsburg and gave a brief update about the state of the production before getting onto the important matter of acknowledging the original movie and its star Robin Williams, saying:
"An important thing that I want to be honest and bring up is Robin Williams. The love and respect I have for this man is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of "Alan Parrish" will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud. I also think Robin is somewhere lookin' down and laughing, remembering the first time we met backstage and I (for the first time ever) was a star struck bumbling idiot that couldn't even get my words out. Idiot. He literally calmed me down w/ that smile and laugh."
The Rock also went on to explain how the new version will have five lead roles instead of the originals three (which, if we're counting right, were Williams and the two kids, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce), but whether or not that means there'll simply be more people playing the game remains to be seen.
The reboot of 'Jumanji' is set for release on July 28th, 2017.
