A new version of the 'Twins' classic
Remember Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Twins'? Of course you do. Well, it seems the formula might be getting a re-do in the new 'Brothers' movie.
Two fine actors, who are both known for their dramatic as well as comedic timing, have been lined up to play two oddball brothers. Peter Dinklage, known worldwide for playing probably the only sound Lannister in all of the land, will be teaming up with the destroyer of half of the world's population, Josh Brolin. And we must admit, this 'Brothers' movie has us quite excited.
The 'Brothers' movie is expected to see Dinklage and Brolin play opposite each-other as unlikely siblings - a formula that worked very well in the 1988 classic 'Twins.' Unfortunately that's all of the plot details we have to go on for now, but we're already sold.
Dinklage has gained a huge fanbase over the years for his portrayal as Tyrion Lannister in HBO's 'Game of Thrones.' Not only that, he played a pivotal role in last year's 'Avengers: Infinity War' helping Thor and Rocket create a new Thanos-stopping weapon (that didn't work). And speaking of Thanos, not only will Brolin be back on our screens very soon returning as The Mad Titan in 'Avengers: Endgame;' but he's also down to return as time-travelling Cable in a forthcoming 'Deadpool 2' sequel. The sequel might be based on X-Force, but due to Disney's takeover of FOX, we'll have to wait and see what happens with the project.
As exciting as it will be to see Dinklage and Brolin star opposite each-other, we have to admit that we do have some concerns. Hollywood churning out the same-old movie idea is a little disappointing, yes. But that's not the only concern. When you also take into account that scriptwriter Etan Cohen is on-board, red lights begin to flash; Cohen is the writer of the recent cinematic travesty 'Holmes & Watson.' Hopefully 'Brothers' can nab a spectacular director to save the project from the same fiery hell that Will Ferrell's latest fell into.
To reminisce on days of past however, here's one of the more memorable scenes from 'Twins.' It sees DeVito teaching Schwarzenegger how to "walk like he's moving to music."
