There has been lots of speculation regarding Paul Rudd and the possibility of him playing Ant Man. During the premiere of Anchorman 2, Rudd was questioned by Absolute Radio on the casting but was quick to dismiss it.
Denying the rumour, Rudd said,'Oh, that's all rumours man. There's nothing I know, sorry.' As he was quickly moved on from the interviewers. Hmm, so could he be lying? It wouldn't be the first time an actor has lied to keep a big casting a secret. Rumours began circulating back in February that Rudd was a shoe in for the role. Joseph Gordon Levitt has also been tied with the role but he has denied all involvement.
We will have to wait a while for Ant Man to hit our screens. Despite being the creator of Ultron Ant Man will not feature in the upcoming Avengers: The Age of Ultron sequel. Edgar Wright confirmed that the script never included Ant man and the film will be a stand alone. 'I like to make it standalone because I think the premise of it needs time. I want to put the crazy premise of it into a real world, which is why I think Iron Man really works because it's a relatively simple universe'.
In the meantime Paul Rudd is busy doing a promotional tour of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which premiered here on Monday. Check out all the action from the red carpet here.
