The singular and hilarious writing talent that is James Gunn, has just announced his first project since his cult hit Slither a few years back, and it sounds like a corker. The Dawn of the Dead writer, will make Super his sophomore directorial effort with Ellen Page, Rainn Wilson and Liv Tyler starring. According to the man himself at his site JamesGunn.com it will not be an all out comedy: "Okay, so, yes, this is a movie about superheroes. But what it’s really about is love, violence, perseverance, and faith. It’s not a spoof. It’s an examination of what it means to try to be something more than human. I think of it as The Passion for rebels, oddballs, fanboys, and freaks everywhere." He then added "I’ve never been more excited or committed to any project in my life, and I can’t wait to share more with you all." Gunn's blogs, including 50 Ways To Call Someone A C**ksucker In A Sentence are some of the funniest things I have ever read, and his work on both Dawn of the Dead and Slither is top notch. Couldn't be more excited for this one.
