In an extraordinary turn of events, 'Parasite' became the first-ever foreign language movie to win Best Picture.
In one of the most shocking nights of recent Oscar history, Bong Joon-ho's 'Parasite' managed to scoop up Best Director, Best International Feature, Best Original Screenplay and, most historically, Best Picture.
'Parasite' is now the first-ever foreign language movie to win Best Picture, but as well as this, it upset the expectations that '1917' was to win both Best Picture and Best Director.
Further afield, the acting categories went exactly as predicted. Joaquin Phoenix, Laura Dern, Renee Zellwegger and Brad Pitt all took home Oscars - all of them first-time winners - in their categories. Taika Waititi's 'Jojo Rabbit' won Best Adapted Screenplay, while 'Parasite' also picked up Best Original Screenplay.
'Toy Story 4', meanwhile, picked up Best Animated Feature while 'Ford v Ferrari' and '1917' made strong showings in the technical categories.
