Today's Oscar nominations mark the official kick-off of Oscar season, and the results panned out largely as expected.

The event, which was hosted by Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis, saw Irish talents Saoirse Ronan bag her third Oscar nomination, Martin McDonagh bag her second nomination for Best Original Screenplay, and Nora Twomey's The Breadwinner bag a nomination for Best Animated Feature.
