This year's nominations have just been announced via livestream from Hollywood.

As expected, La La Land made solid gains with nominations for Best Actor, Best Picture, Best Original Score, Best Actress and a number of technicals whilst Nocturnal Animals and Silence has been largely shut out. In other areas, our own Ruth Negga scored a nomination for Best Actress and The Lobster - which was co-produced by Element Pictures - scored Best Original Screenplay. Irish costume designer Consolata Boyle scored a nomination for her work on Florence Foster Jenkins.
