If you've been following the saga of the Hocus Pocus sequel, you'll know that it's best not to get your hopes.
When last we left the story, Bette Midler had pretty much drawn a line underneath it and said that it probably wasn't going to happen any time soon - despite the fact that she, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy were all more than ready to step back in for the role and make it happen.
Even Thora Birch seemed like she was up for it, too. Anyway, all this goodwill wasn't enough to convince anyone to make it happen, however one of the screenwriters of the original - Mick Garris - has given new hope to the possibility of a sequel. According to a recent interview with Forbes that was picked up by BloodyDisgusting.com, a script is currently being developed with both Midler, Najimy and Parker ready to return.
"I haven’t been involved in it but I think there will be a sequel it might be for Disney Channel or Freeform or ABC. I think it will be for television but I hear that it is moving ahead," said Garris. Neither Midler, SJP or Najimy have mentioned it happening on their own, so it's hard to know if it's actually happening or if it's just Garris speaking on rumours.
Regardless, a Hocus Pocus sequel has been mooted for so long that someone is going to have to draw a line under it at some point and either make it happen or not.
