Anybody remember xXx? That silly action movie from the early 2000s with Vin Diesel?
He played a Hollywood stuntman that was drafted into the NSA by Samuel L. Jackson to fight a bunch of Rammstein-loving Russian soldiers. It was totally daft, but it did have a cracking soundtrack and made a pretty decent amount at the box office. The follow-up, xXx: The Next Level, had Ice Cube jump into the role and, well, it was a bit pants.
Anyway, we all thought that was basically with the idea of stuntmen becoming NSA types but noooooo, Vin Diesel has to drag this up again. The announcement was made late last night on Instagram of all places, with Diesel confirming that shooting is to begin this December on the threequel to xXx.
It's worth nothing that one Simon Kinberg, who's now heavily involved in both X-Men AND Star Wars penned the daft script for xXx: The Next Level so it's anybody's guess how this one will turn out. Also, wasn't Vin Diesel killed in the sequel? Yes, we watched it. We were in a big Ice Cube phase at that point.
