David O Russell will not be returning to finish his troubled Jessica Biel project, Nailed, after the film's production was halted two years ago, and the financers took over.

Production was shut down during filming on several occasions, when guild members weren’t paid on time. The producers then had to pay penalties from the unions, for not paying their members when the clams were due. Finally, Nailed, where Biel plays a woman who becomes a sex addict after being shot in the head with a nail gun, just stopped filming indefinitely - and that was two years ago.

The financers and O Russell couldn't agree on the stipulations on him coming back to helm, so he has officially bailed, with a new director being sought to reshoot scenes. That means Biel, Tracey Morgan and Jake Gyllenhaal, could be forced to return to film scenes with a new director/hack. That's a no win situation for any director, so don't expect an A-lister to turn up wielding a megaphone. O Russell next has The Fighter, with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, which is out around award season.
