Groovy, baby
Mike Myers has strongly hinted at a possible return for the innuendo-driven, bespectacled spy Austin Powers.
In an interview with Serius XM, the 58-year-old seemed to hint that a fourth instalment of the comedy franchise could be on its way. When asked about whether there was a new movie in the works, Myers replied, "I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist."
It's obvious that the actor was trying to hold back confirming the existence of the project. When pushed on the issue he said it "was a non-confirmed confirmation confirmation."
Myers first played the shagadelic spy in 1997's 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery'. He also played the antagonist Dr. Evil. Alongside him were Elizabeth Hurley, Robert Wagner, Seth Green, Michael York and Mindy Sterling.
The sequel, 'Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me' featured Heather Graham as the randy spy's love interest. Beyonce starred in the third instalment, 'Austin Powers in Goldmember', which released in 2002.
Since the third film's departure from the cinemas 20 years ago, Myers has been candid in wanting to do another. In 2018, the comedy star confirmed a script was being worked on, even bringing back the character of Dr. Evil on 'The Tonight Show'.
Myers currently stars in 'The Pentaverate', which premieres on Netflix this week. The show features the actor in a multitude of roles and marks his return to the mainstream.
'The Pentaverate' is available to watch on Netflix today, Thursday, May 5.
