Recently Oscar nominated star of Blue Valentine, Michelle Williams has been offered the role of Glinda in the Sam Raimi-directed Oz: The Great and Powerful according to The Hollywood Reporter.

James Franco replaced Johnny Depp in the film  as The Wizard, while Mila Kunis is also on board and Rachel Weisz is in negotiations for a role. The film will act as a prequel to the classic original, which is now over 70 years old. Williams will play the good queen, while Weisz is in negotiations for the bad queen - but may not sign on as she's being sought for a role in The Bourne Legacy.

It would be Raimi's first blockbuster since Spiderman 4 fell apart. He did helm the very fun Drag Me To Hell a couple of years ago, which was more going back to his horror routes.
