Alongside her husband Ben Falcone

The best way of trying to get onto a Marvel movie? By mispronouncing the production company.

It seems that's what comedian Melissa McCarthy is thinking anyway. The actor teamed up with her husband Ben Falcone for a rather questionable audition tape for Marvel's latest blockbuster.

While chilling somewhere in Australia on Christmas Day, the pair admitted that they were "desperate" to be in Taika Waititi's 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. And so, with the production set to begin down under very soon, they've prepared their own monologues in order to catch the director's attention.

Well, this is certainly one way of catching his attention. McCarthy says that she would do an act from the 1985 movie 'The Trip to Bountiful', playing the role of 89-year-old Geraldine Page, a part she's played since she was 21. Falcone meanwhile will perform a scene from Shakespeare's The Tempest'.

The comedians then call out Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, and director Waititi and the people at "Mar-vell" Studios. Falcone's mispronunciation makes McCarthy nearly spit out her drink before she says "I love your ice-cream cake!" McCarthy is likely referencing American ice-cream brand Carvel here, saying: "Mar-vell, you make a wonderful movie and a wonderful ice cream cake."

The pair then break out into a song about water crackers, and brag about their hummus-making abilities, giving the studios execs "just a taste" of the sheer talent both actors are showing off.

While we're not sure if Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone's audition tape will secure them a spot in 'Thor: Love and Thunder', the cast of the fourth 'Thor' instalment is already looking pretty hefty.

Alongside Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, the Guardians of the Galaxy gang are also set to appear. Expect some new characters to also make an appearance, as well as some blasts from the past to give it an 'Avengers 5' feel - according to Thompson. The movie isn't due for release until May 2, 2022.
