Jim Caviezel will reprise his role as Jesus Christ in 'The Resurrection', the sequel to the hugely successful 2004 film 'The Passion of the Christ'.
Once again, Mel Gibson will direct Caviezel in the role, which he first hinted at while promoting 'Hacksaw Ridge' last year.
As the title suggests, it will take up the story of Jesus after his crucifixion with a script penned by Randall Wallace, the man who also wrote 'Passion'.
Caviezel confirmed his involvement while doing the press rounds of 'Paul, Apostle of the Christ', in which he plays the apostle Luke. (Yes, he's a devout Catholic, as you might have guessed).
He said: "There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience. It’s great … I won’t tell you how he’s going to go about it, but I’ll tell you this much, the film he’s going to do is going to be the biggest film in history. It’s that good.”
No pressure there, then...
