Max Landis is nothing if not prolific.
In the last year, the inventive screenwriter has had two spec script sales with Bright and Deeper and has also overseen the production of his TV series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, which will be available on Netflix in December.
Now comes the news that his next project will be to write and direct a remake of his father's 1979 horror comedy classic, An American Werewolf in London.
Deadline are reporting that Max's father, John will be involved as an Executive Producer while The Walking Dead's David Alpert and Robert Kirkman will produce the film.
It's an interesting move for Max Landis to remake his father's greatest triumph. He's unfairly had to deal with nepotism criticism throughout his career and one would have thought a move like this would simply add fuel to the internet trolls' fire.
We doubt he's overly concerned about that though.
Yeah, it's true. My dad is Douglas Adams and my mom is @Syfy and my stepdad is @DavidAyerMovies and his mom is @neftflix. https://t.co/UmdLt4xqWH
