I'll take Bad Sign for 300, Alex.
It's been confirmed by Sony that the long-awaited reboot of '80s cartoon / toy franchise Masters Of The Universe is pressing ahead with an Oscar-friendly release date of December 18th, 2019, but will now have to find a new a Master of the Film Universe as everyone's favourite mononymous director, McG, has pulled out.
No specific reason has been stated why, but McG was pretty much cheerleading this film all by himself and made lofty comparisons with Marvel and Game Of Thrones. Of course, that all sounds like complete bulls**t and there isn't a snowball's chance in Eternia that this was going to reach those kind of standards, but it does speak to how enthusiastic McG was about the project.
So why leave now? It's hard to say, but there's a script - written by David Goyer, no less - and a confirmed release date, so they're clearly trying to make it happen. As for who'll be playing He-Man, there's no official word, however Kellan Lutz (remember him?) tweeted about an "exciting meeting" he had with McG last year, so... yeah, that's probably not going to happen anymore.
