We're not going to lie. The when the Venom solo movie was first announced, we weren't overly enthused.
A Venom movie set in the Spider-Man universe but without Spider-Man just doesn't feels strange. But then Sony's Amy Pascal went and got us all excited by hinting that we may see Tom Holland's Spider-Man pop up in the movie after all.

One thing we noted at the time though was that Pascal's comments seemed like news to Marvel's Kevin Feige and when the question was put to him directly at the Spider-Man: Homecoming world premiere the other night, he was pretty insistent that Tom Holland won't have any part to play in the Venom movie.

Bummer.
Though as Feige himself points out, the movie is off to a good start with Tom Hardy in the lead role. Not to mention the fact that Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer will be calling the shots behind the camera.
