Margot Robbie has been going from strength to strength after her breakout performance in The Wolf of Wall Street three years ago.
She's impressed in supporting roles alongside Will Smith in Focus and Tina Fey in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot while her performance as Harley Quinn looks like it will be the stand out in Suicide Squad if the trailers are anything to go by. Now it looks like she's planning to move into carrying movies by herself and the first stop is a Tonya Harding biopic called I,Tonya that she'll produce and star in.
For those unfamiliar with Harding's story, she was originally seen as a plucky underdog who rose from a poverty-stricken childhood to become one of the top figure skaters in the US. She became the first woman to complete the triple axel jump in big competitions and emerged victorious at the 1991 US Figure Skating Championships. She went on to place second at the World Championships but it was the run up to the 1994 Olympics that would be her undoing.
Harding conspired with her then husband, Jeff Gillooly to attack and injure rival, Nancy Kerrigan. They failed as Kerrigan would go on to win silver at the Olympics but their attempt was partially caught on camera leaving Harding embroiled in the scandal during the Olympics win which she eventually placed 8th. She was later banned from the sport for life.
