'Madonna: I Hardly Know Her!' has no set release date of as yet.
Many of us have spent lockdown trying to amuse ourselves with different projects, whether it's learning how to bake banana bread, taking up a new hobby or activity, or in celebrities' cases, singing 'Imagine' into their phone because of world peace or some sh*t.
Madonna, however, has taken it a step further and is in the middle of co-writing a biopic about her life with Diablo Cody. This part, we already knew, but it was announced last night that Madonna intends to direct said biopic herself.
According to the official statement, Amy Pascal - formerly of Sony Pictures and the reason why there's so many 'Spider-Man' movies - is set to produce, with Diablo Cody co-writing the script.
"I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” said Madonna, in the statement. “The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”
Who knows, maybe this will be brilliant? After all, music biopics are big winners with audiences these days. Not only that, the likes of Elton John was directly involved in 'Rocketman', so maybe blurring the lines between the subject and the creative process is the way to go?
At any rate, the untitled Madonna biopic so far hasn't announced casting or a release date, so we'll be keeping an eye on this one.
