Jessica Chastain's involvement in the sequel to 'IT' has been rumoured for many months, but now it looks like the actress is close to sealing the deal on the second part of Stephen King's story.
As you may already know, 'IT' became the highest-grossing horror film of all time upon its release last year, grossing a massive $700 million at the worldwide box office.
The second part of the story sees the children from the first part as adults who return to their hometown 27 years later when they suspect that Pennywise, the evil clown who terrorised their childhoods, is back.
Chastain is reportedly in talks to play the adult version of Beverly, played by Sophia Lillis in the first film - and even Lillis, who bears a striking resemblance to the older actress, has publicly said that she would 'love' her to play the adult Beverly.
Meanwhile, filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti have also mentioned the resemblance, saying: “I think one of the first things that we noticed when we saw Sophia come into the room was, my gosh, you look like [Chastain],” Barbara Muschietti said. “It’s a strange kind of connection, but we will see.”
It sounds like a done deal to us, but we'll have to wait until autumn 2019 to see the finished product - whether that ultimately includes Chastain or not.
