Logan's Run featured recently in our so-bad-it's-good list, but now we've got some news - the long-awaited remake is finally back in motion.
The sci-fi classic was set in a post-apocalyptic society where people were executed in a bizarre ritual on their 30th birthday in order to keep a watch on resoruces.
It was understood that Nicolas Winding Refn of Drive and Only God Forgives fame was looking to reinvent with Ryan Gosling in the titular role.
That, sadly, never came to fruition and we're not sure why because it sounded incredible. Refn doing sci-fi? Amazing.
Anyway, it was all kicked to touch and now it looks like Simon Kinberg, producer of Fantastic Four, X-Men: Days of Future Past and the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is working on it.
It's early days yet, with no director or cast announced, but it does tell us that the original is still hot property. Kinberg will write a treatment with the full script being tackled by someone else.
Not only that, for a film that was originally released in 1976, it's still searing relevant.
We're excited for this - but what about you? Let us know in the comments!
