Lindsay Lohan's recent output hasn't exactly gotten rave reviews, to say the least.

In fact, her latest theatrically-released film was in 2013 and that was Scary Movie 5 and she was playing herself. So, yeah. However, that hasn't kept Lohan from trying her best to get out there and get some work. Lohan's been lobbying hard on Instagram for a particular role - that of Ariel in Disney's upcoming remake of The Little Mermaid.

In a since-deleted comment over an Instagram post, Lohan offered herself up as Ariel and even picked out someone to sing the theme song for the film - her sister, Ali Lohan. As well as this, Lohan also had some thoughts on the director and tapped Bill Condon - who's currently directing Beauty & The Beast - for the job.

As you can imagine, Disney hasn't publicly commented on Lohan's offer and even Lohan's own fans don't think it's a good idea - which is most likely why Lohan then changed the comment over the Instagram post to just #thelittlemermaid.

In any case, Disney hasn't yet set a release date or lined up casting for The Little Mermaid remake - so Lohan's still in with a shot.

Cough.
